Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) is pleased to announce Cameron Paxton as its new President & Chief Executive Officer effective 1 July 2026, following the retirement of outgoing TMHA President and CEO Steve Takacs. Paxton has previously held the position of TMHA Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer and has played a pivotal role in shaping TMHA’s strategic direction, improving operational areas, and focusing on safety and performance.
Paxton's appointment reflects an outstanding career with the company spanning over 29 years. During this time Paxton has demonstrated strong leadership, a deep understanding of TMHA's business, customers and people.
Having first commenced his career in the material handling industry in January 1997 with Melbourne based company ProLift as their Business & Sales Manager, Paxton has since progressed through several key sales and operation leadership positions within TMHA.
In 2007, Paxton was promoted to the role of Regional General Manager Melbourne during the formation of TMHA. Paxton later relocated to Sydney Head Office during 2012, stepping into the role of General Manager Branch Operations, providing leadership and support to the branch network. Paxton was subsequently promoted to the position of General Manager – Sales, and then the Director of Sales.
Most recently, Paxton was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer in 2025 and has been instrumental in leading the business operations through a critical period of transformation, positively contributing towards the success of TMHA.
